ZEOFINE GEL is the only flocculent proven to work with both sand and ZEOFINE (it will not harm the ion exchange capability of zeofine). Place one block in the pump basket NOT the skimmer basket. Leave the filter running until water becomes clear - usually 24 hours, keep ph between 7 - 7,4. And it keeps on working for up to 3 weeks. Use one block for pools to 25,000 gallons. 120m3 Do not place chlorine tablets near block.

ZEOFINE is made from a natural rock of volcanic origin of the zeolite family.

At the microscopic level the structure of a zeolite can be compared to a « bee hive » with a multitude of pores and cavities. Therefore it is of low density and offers a large expanded surface : 1kg of ZEOFINE represents a surface area equivilant to several football fields !

Its composition and the structure give ZEOFINE two fundamental properties :

A great capacity of absorbtion of solid particles and dissolved compounds.

The capacity to capture certain ions in a similar way to resins.

The water consumption is reduced by 50% thanks to less frequent cleaning. And consequently there is a net reduction in the consumption of reagents and disinfectants. ZEOFINE has the capacity to fix the ammonia ions (NH4+) which reduces considerably the ammonia nitrogen content in the water and therefore the formation of chloramines. Because the chlorine added to the water is totally efficient one avoids overdosing with chlorine. There is a reduction of 30-50% in the amount of chlorine added The buffer effect of the ZEOFINE gives a better pH maintenance and so there is less reagent such as carbon dioxide. Thanks to its microporous structure ZEOFINE has on average half the density of sand and therefore the loss of charge is much lower. For any given speed one can use a less powerful pump, and consequently there is a net reduction in electricity consumption. Thanks to economies in energy and chemical products, ZEOFINE actively contributes to the protection of the environment.

It takes only a third as much ZEOFINE as of sand to achieve the same results !

ZEOFINE is capable of reaching a level of filtration of about 5 µm whereas sand is generally limited to 40 µm !

The effectiveness of ZEOFINE on the matter in suspension is due to the rough polar surface to which the particles can « cling ». This can be verified by comparing the surface of a grain of ZEOFINE with the surface of a grain of sand under a microscope.

During the installation it is necessary to rinse the ZEOFINE so as to remove any dust. It is recommended to fill the filter just two thirds and monitor the flow during the washing so as not to overflow the grains of ZEOFINE.

If you don’t want to fill a filter with only ZEOFINE, you can place it on top of a layer of sand.

In the case of a multilayered filtering bed, the height of the layer of ZEOFINE must represent at least 35% of the total height of the bed.

However, ZEOFINE only completely demonstrates its efficiency when it is used alone as the replacement for sand (same volume). You then obtain a lasting clear water and you make substantial savings in cost.

The frequency of washing depends largely on the use of the swiming pool. It has been shown that the number of washings is generally halved compared to sand. As soon as a rise in the pressure in the filters is noticed, washing is necessary.

Washing is done by an expansion of the fitering block. It is optimal when the volume of the bed increases by 25 – 30%. Be careful to control the flow in order not to wash away the ZEOFINE. 

ZEOFINE can endure numerous washings :

With intensive use, its efficiency is constant for at least 5years.

For individual homes ZEOFINE can last even longer, up to 7 years !
